Hi there. I hope your week is off to a fabulous start. What did you get up to over the weekend? This weekend was pretty laid back and mostly indoors for me. Neil, my mum and I did however go for an impromptu coffee outing when mum came to visit, which was a welcome surprise. I recently went on a thrift shopping afternoon and I noticed that a lot of the items I was drawn to were of neutral tones. I love how versatile such items are. It is possible to get a lot of wear from them by styling them differently. So the neutral palette is my inspiration for this week’s post and this style story.
For one ensemble, I put together a black and white stripe t-shirt with gray tights that I have featured multiple times like here and here, I love the fit of these tights. The little pocket on the front of the t-shirt is a cute detail. The accessories for this look were my black round toe pumps, a black textured patent leather clutch bag and you know me and my beaded pieces, with a black beaded bracelet and statement ring. I also put on my black studs and a nude lip to round off the look.
For the second look, I went with a black collar tee that I think can look fabulous dressed down for a casual feel or dressed up for an official look. I styled it for a look that I would wear to cocktails with my girlfriends. I put it with my printed pants that added character to the outfit. For the accessories, I went with “nude” heels, a brown clutch, a brown beaded bracelet and a different beaded statement ring. My layered necklace fit perfectly with the theme and the t-shirt. I kept the nude lip and used a simple pair of studs to keep up with the neutral vibe.
I did paint my nails grey and added white detail on them to add my character and unique touch to them. I was not sure how the nails would look because it is something that I did on my own (my own version of nail art, LOL) but I absolutely love the end result.
