Hi there. I hope your week is coming along well. Video content is where it’s at currently. I dipped my toe into that arena a little bit for this post. I am a novice when it comes to the world of makeup. I had a friend in my first place of work who was really into all the elements of makeup. Her face was always done. I don’t think I ever saw her without her impeccable makeup. She always did it so well and fast. Sometimes, I would sit back and watch her touch it up. At the time, I didn’t really consider that a part of my world. One time, she asked whether I used makeup and I told her that I did not. She told me that her experience with it started with lipstick and she suggested that I give it a try. I told her I would think about it.

A week or two later, I walked into a cosmetics shop and bought my first tube of lipstick (a red one, can’t remember the brand) and my first pair of hoop earrings (I still have those earrings). That was only a few years back but the makeup game has grown in leaps and bounds since then. I watch a lot of videos, mainly on Instagram, where peeps do their makeup and you can see the transformation from start to finish. One of the things that stands out to me is the amount of makeup used. It is A LOT! That does make it a little overwhelming to think about trying some of those looks out, but I suppose it is possible to learn, with all the content and tutorials on YouTube. For the moment however, I am enjoying watching other people express their creativity.

Since I bought my first lipstick, I have added a few items onto my modest collection, that’s another story for another day. I was thinking about it a few weeks back and I decided to see how many tubes of lipstick I had at that moment and I was surprised to find that there were more than 10. Seeing this led me to think about creating a video that featured my top 10 out of that collection and that is how this video came about. I pieced it together just to see if I could, then showed the final product to Neil and he liked it. I didn’t think I would post it or use it for anything else.

Neil however, had other ideas and he suggested that I post it. I have been back and forth thinking about it and I finally figured it would be okay to try something new so, here we are. I hope you like it.

Thank you so much for reading.
